The City Museum, formerly the international Shoe Building in St. Louis, is a children's playground in a 6 story building. Made of repurposed architectural and industrial materials, it has been called a "wild, singular vision of an oddball mind". It is an astounding work of art. Don't miss it if you get to St. Louis. Designed by Bob Cassilly and his then wife Gail Cassilly, it opened in 1997. It has been named "one of the Great Public Spaces". It is a delight for children of all ages.
